"I've been self-employed and working from a home office for 10 years. My filing system has grown up in an ad hoc way. Despite periodic clear-outs it had got to the stage where I couldn't find things and didn't know what I had. I desperately wanted to create some clear space but couldn't seem to achieve this. Shelves and cupboards and drawers were bursting with stuff. I didn’t feel entitled to dedicate the time necessary to reorganise my systems, as getting in business and earning fees was always my priority.

Chris listened carefully to what I needed and made very creative suggestions that I would never have thought of myself. She kept me going at the points when I would have given up if I'd been doing it on my own. Before, I could only do about two hours' de-cluttering max before I'd had enough. With Chris, I would put in a good day's work and achieve lots.

Not only does she help with de-cluttering but, more importantly, she helps to set up systems to ensure that clutter doesn't build up again in the future. My desk drawers used to be stuffed full of stationery and all sorts of bits and pieces, such that I could hardly close them! She reorganised them all into sections so that I know exactly where everything is and only have as much as I need (eg three rolls of sellotape rather than 10).

Chris has a knack of breaking apparently daunting tasks down into manageable chunks and then working methodically through them, which is very helpful for someone like me, who tends to start things but not finish them.

My office looks much tidier and more ordered and has more space. I can lay my hands on what I need easily and don't waste time looking for things. Filing is also easier because I know where to put things rather than having a heap of stuff I'm not sure what to do with. I feel much more focused as I have streamlined and consolidated my paperwork and got rid of everything I don't need. I no longer have piles on the floor or boxes under my desk. Now we've sorted out the filing system on my computer, I can find documents far more easily rather than hunting around for them. It was a big investment of time to sort things out, but absolutely worth it and I'm confident that I will now be able to maintain the order that we've created together.

When I move home the process will be much less daunting as I know exactly what I will be taking and how much space I will need for it in my new home. 

Chris' combination of creativity and attention to detail is very effective. She brings everything that she needs with her so that the job gets completed there and then, rather than having tasks left over to complete. Rather surprisingly, the days we spent reorganising my home office were actually enjoyable. Chris is a delight to work with and transformed what could be a mundane chore into a satisfying and enjoyable process. She even provides lunch, so I felt very taken care of!"
